DIY Activity 4: Locks and Keys

Locks and Keys

Kids love keys, be it car keys, cupboard or door keys. Whenever my kids lay their hands on a key, they try all the locks in the house with the key. So why not make it fun and use locks and keys to make them understand colors. This activity also improves hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills

You will need:

  1. set of 4-5 lock and keys
  2. Craft paper
  3. Sticking tape
  4. Key rings or chains

How to make it:

Stick the colored craft paper on both the matching key chain and lock and add a transparent sticking tape over it to make it more firm. You can hang the locks on various loops in the house and let the toddler find out which key matches which lock.

*Do not use small keys without key chains as it may lead to choking
