Make this simple yet stunning single rose hair band for you kid. I made this red rose hair band to go with my daughter’s ‘Beauty and the Beast’ themed yellow dress.
You will need:
- 8 ply yarn (Green and any other colour of your choice)
- 5mm hook
Steps:
Ch= chain
Sc = single stitch
For the Rose:
- Row 1:
- Ch 56,
- 1sc crochet in the second stich from the hook,
- 1 sc in every stitch (55)
- Row 2:
- ch 1, turn back.
- Do a ‘V’ stitch -skip 1 stitch – V stitch in the next.
- Do till the end of the row
- (‘V stitch’= in the stitch do a double crochet +ch 2+ double crochet in the same stitch).
- Last one should be a ‘V stitch’. (28 ‘V stitch’)
- Row 3:
- Ch 1 and turn over. Work in the ‘ch 2 space of the previous row’. Do 7 double crochet in that space. In the next space i.e in the middle space of ch2 space, put a sc. Repeat the pattern till the end. Finish your work and tie it up
- Start rolling from one end (the side with sc) and sew it over. Make a smaller tighter roll to get a rose. Do it till the end.
For the leaves:
- Slip knot and ch 12
- Half double crochet in the 3rd stitch from the hook
- Half double crochet in the next stitch
- Double crochet in the next stitch
- Double crochet in the next stitch
- Triple crochet in the next stitch. Do triple crochet in each stitch, till the rest of the chain, but the last. (5 stitches in total)
- In the last stitch do 7 triple crochet stitches to make a sort of round bottom of the leaf.
- Start working up on the other side. Do triple crochet in the next 5 stitches.
- Double crochet in the next stitch.
- Double crochet in the next stitch.
- Half double crochet in the next stitch.
- Half double crochet in the next stitch.
- End by slip stitch in the first stitch. Tie the end.
Take your rose and place your leaves where you want and sew it on at the bottom using green yarn
You can add this rose on any hairband you want.
